In the diesel industry the number one killer of transmissions is heat.  Whether you are pulling heavy loads or traveling up steep grades, diesel transmissions will increase in temperatures leading to an overheated transmission, clutch slippage and possibly clutch fusion, leaving you stranded on the side of the road.  This is why BD Diesel's Auxiliary Extruded Transmission Cooler was designed with the same technology you will find in their popular diesel intercoolers and can improve cooling 22% over the competitors designs. 

Fluid can pass freely through the coolers larger 5/8" ports that reduce restrictions and have even been pressure tested to 300PSI.  With over 200 micro extruded passages along the larger surface area used to transfer heat into, the Xtruded Transmission Cooler then uses forced air from driving and the provided electric fan to strip heat away and begin cooling the fluid for reuse.  The 10" Electric fan is thermostatically controlled and increase airflow 800 CFM for ultimate temperature control.  This combination of improved fluid flow and forced air over the increased surface can proved a rating of 33,000 BTU per hour and in excess of 30,000 Gross Vehicle Weight!
